Press Releases:

For Immediate Release                                                                                April 17, 2013

The Prairie Spy: Who Shot the Dryer? And Other Stories From the Home Front, by Minnesota author Alan Linda, is a finalist for the Midwest Book Awards: Humor category.

The awards are sponsored by the Midwest Independent Publishers Association (MIPA), made up of publishers from twelve Midwestern states.   MIPA provides judges who are experts in specific fields and/or genres of writing and design.

Lindy has been writing his newspaper column, "The Prairie Spy" for over 25 years; the collection in his book ranges from hilarious dialogs with talking appliances to poignant tales of his time in Vietnam. His look at small-town life delights those looking for humor in everyday living.

Lindy showcased his book to booksellers at the Heartland Fall Forum last October, and looks forward to the Midwest Book Awards Celebration on May 8 at the Bloomington Center for the Arts.   More can be found about Lindy or his book at www.trellispublishing.com.

". . . Lots of fun and laughs . . . Lindy's vision is equal parts Alfred Hitchcock and Garrison Keillor."

Steve Schultz, former Editor of the Wadena Pioneer Journal

Game Over, by Minnesota author Bernie DuBois, won an Honorable Mention in the 2011 Hollywood Book Festival Awards. The organization is “based in the capital of show business, the Hollywood Book Festival aims to spotlight literature worthy of further consideration by the talent-hungry pipeline of the entertainment industry.”

Dr. DuBois will be traveling to Hollywood for the award ceremony on July 22, where she and other winners will be honored at the famous Roosevelt Hotel, where the Academy Awards were first held.

Bernie DuBois has written a startlingly good first novel that has all the compelling elements readers need to keep them up all night, turning pages to the smashing finale. I highly recommend this novel to those who love a good mystery thriller and with topical social issues and of course, romance. You won’t be disappointed!      -Jean Cole, Executive Editor, Hometown Focus, alternative weekly newspaper, Virginia, MN
